What is the philosophy behind Be Cosy?
The ethos behind our brand Be Cosy is centred on Hygge (the Danish concept of cosiness and contentment) combined with a deep appreciation for Irish craft. We carefully curate our gift boxes and products to encourage a slower, more intentional pace of life, reflecting our tagline: 'enjoy the present'. We're committed to quality, sustainability, and supporting local Irish craft, particularly from West Cork where I live.
Where are your products sourced?
We prioritise local Irish artisan products wherever possible, especially for items like our handmade candles, cards, and knitwear. I source many products from local markets. We are not a site for mass-produced, cheap imports, everything here is high quality with low environmental impact. You can visit our supplier page here to find out more about our suppliers.
Are your gift boxes customisable?
Yes, absolutely! We offer pre-curated boxes for simple gifting, but you can also 'Build Your Own Cosy Box' from our range of beautiful products to create a truly personalised gift.
How do you create a gift box?
To build a box just click on build your own box section of the website. Choose the box size and choose the products. The last step is to choose a card. Use the option to write a message which I'll then handwrite for you and add it to the box. When you build your own box, you get 10% off at the check out.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes, when you build your own gift box you can enjoy 10% off at checkout. If you join our newsletter you also get 15% off. You can join our newsletter by filling in your details on the pop up on our website.
What are your shipping costs and delivery times in Ireland?
We offer a flat rate for shipping across Ireland for €6.50. Delivery within Ireland generally takes 2-4 working days after dispatch. You can view the exact shipping cost on the checkout page before completing your purchase. We also offer free shipping on all orders over €75 (details are provided at the top of our website). Once your Be Cosy purchase leaves our cosy office you'll be sent an email with a tracking number.
What happens if my order arrives damaged or an item is missing?
We take great care in packaging, but if an item is damaged or missing, please contact us immediately (within 48 hours of delivery) at doreen@becosy.ie with your order number and a photograph of the damage. We will ensure the issue is resolved quickly with a replacement or refund. You will find more information on our returns policy on this link.
What advice can you give me on your candles?
The Wizard and Grace candles
Our standard-sized candles (160g) are designed to provide approximately 40-45 hours of burn time when used according to our care guidelines. To maximise the longevity and performance of your candle, we recommend following proper burning practices, such as allowing the wax to melt fully across the surface during the first burn and trimming the wick before each use. By adhering to these practices, you can ensure a clean, even burn, allowing you to fully enjoy the therapeutic benefits of our candles over an extended period.
The Beeswax candles
Our beeswax candles offer approx 10-12 hours burn time. Ensure you use a candle holder for them as the wax will melt down the side of the candles.
